New engines the key to Wiktor Jasiński’s success?
27.08.2024 11:45Thanks to the good performance of Wiktor Jasiński and Sebastian Szostak, the team from Ostrów managed to win. Ultimately, the team achieved two victories over H. SKRZYDLEWSKA ORZEŁ Łódź, allowing them to advance to the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga semi-finals.
The match for the 23-year-old started with a “zero,” but this time the situation from the previous match did not repeat itself, Jasiński found optimal settings in subsequent starts. – The first run I rode on standard settings, where at the very end I lacked a bit of speed. I was riding a new unit, so I didn’t fully know this engine. I received it just a day before the match at 10 PM. In the following heats, we made adjustments, which turned out to be good – the speedway rider reported on the spot.
The team from Ostrów faces the semi-final round, where they will compete with ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz. Wiktor Jasiński does not hide his eagerness to ride. He also promises to try to keep the team in the fight for advancement to the PGE Ekstraliga for as long as possible.
– We had a good start. I am happy because my point haul is also a very good result. As an ambitious person and athlete, I want to ride as much as possible. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out. I want to score as well as possible and race in as many heats as possible. I will do my best to have as many races as possible until the end of the season – the rider explained.
Many fans might have felt worried about the form of the 23-year-old during the first quarter-final match. At the Łódź Motoarena, the rider appeared just twice. In subsequent starts, he was replaced by team members. – My performance in Łódź is forgettable because I lost an engine that worked well on that track. That’s why I had to ride a different unit, which wasn’t necessarily well-matched – Jasiński recounted.
The next matches for the ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp. rider are also an opportunity to better understand his new engines. He has already completed his first match on them. This gave him the chance to get to know the new equipment and understand what the new units might require.
– The return match on our track involved a series of engine changes. It was a new unit, so it needed a bit of getting used to. We changed a lot of gears, many jets, and learned about this engine. We wanted it to function as quickly and as well as possible. We still have some work and training before us to be in optimal settings. From the start of the match, I want to score points and not bring in “zeros” because that often happens and shouldn’t be the case. I hope to have everything under control in the remaining matches of the season – concluded Wiktor Jasiński.
