Jacek Ziółkowski: In the Play-Off Phase, There Will Be No Room for Mistakes
25.07.2024 09:22In the match in Lublin, where ORLEN OIL MOTOR faced KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Czestochowa, there was no shortage of emotions. The match turned out to be very even, but the hosts won 48:42. Since the competition with KS APATOR Toruń, the team from Lublin has been struggling with problems in maintaining consistent starts. Jacek Ziółkowski, the manager of the Lublin team, spoke about the details of this situation.
During the 11th round of PGE Ekstraliga, the ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin riders failed to establish a significant lead over their opponents. In an interview with ekstraliga.pl, Jacek Ziółkowski presented possible reasons for their inconsistent form. – Jack Holder performed poorly; it happens in sports. I hope this is not a sign of a crisis. During the Speedway of Nations, he scored points. For me, this type of competition is an opportunity to review my riders’ performance. I think he will manage, and we will continue to enjoy his performances. I know Dominik Kubera is doing everything to find speed in the motorcycles. On the other hand, Fredrik Lindgren had tough races during the match, and the opponents were faster – he summed up.
A positive aspect for the host team was the performance of Wiktor Przyjemski, who finished first in the 14th race. There are questions in the speedway community and among fans whether the young rider should have been given a chance to ride in the nominated races much earlier. – Every match has its history. If we look back at past matches, the answer is affirmative, but the question arises as to whom he should replace. It depends on the course of the events. In this match, it was planned as early as the 10th race for Wiktor to ride in the nominated race. Here it was justified. He scored three points and gave us the victory – Ziółkowski explained.
The riders from Częstochowa have achieved the best points balance at Best Auto Arena in Lublin among all PGE Ekstraliga teams in the 2024 season. – For five years, the Czestochowa riders have had good performances at our stadium. They have a team composed of high-class riders. Particularly, Leon Madsen has stood out, as he scores well in most matches – evaluated the manager of ORLEN OIL MOTOR.
The play-off phase, where teams will compete for the highest goals, is approaching rapidly. There is a question of whether Jacek Ziółkowski is planning any special preparations before the last matches of the regular season? – We should not lose our first position until the end of the regular season, so we can afford various experiments before the decisive phase of the season. There will be no time for mistakes then – concluded the manager of the Lublin team.
