In the match concluding the 11th round of the PGE Ekstraliga, FOGO UNIA Leszno won against ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz 47:43. However, the bonus point went to Grudziądz (97:82).

No one needed convincing about how important this match was. Leszno needed points like air, even harboring aspirations to win with a bonus. Grudziądz also approached this match combatively, looking to dethrone Leszno’s dreams.

The match started with two ties, then Rafał Okoniewski’s team pulled 6 points ahead of Grudziądz. The response didn’t take long. In the 5th race, as part of a tactical reserve, Max Fricke raced, and Grudziądz won this heat 4:2. The 6th heat ended similarly, with a tie in the 7th heat, leaving Leszno leading by two points.

The third series saw exchanges of blows between the teams. Grudziądz managed to tie the score, only for Leszno to pull two points ahead in the next race. Great misfortune struck Max Fricke at the start of the fourth series when his machine broke down. In the 13th race, FOGO UNIA won again as a team, leading by four points before the nominated heats. Earlier, in the 12th race, Grudziądz secured the bonus point.

In the 14th race, Grudziądz was leading double for a long time, but the Jepsen Jensen-Lidsey pair was split by Benjamin Cook, and the last race was to decide everything. Leszno won the start and was leading, but Tarasenko split them. This led to the final 47:43 in the match and two big points for FOGO UNIA Leszno.

The home team’s leaders were Grzegorz Zengota (11+1) and Keynan Rew (11). For the guests, the top scorer was Vadim Tarasenko (12).
