Due to renovation works at the Pila stadium, the match between local POLONIA and UNIA Tarnów (9th round of the National Speedway League) took place on the track in Bydgoszcz. After an incredibly close fight, the team from Piła won 50:39. Daniel Jeleniewski, who scored 10 points, talked about the emotions related to the match.

In a conversation for ekstraliga.pl, the UNIA Tarnów rider summarized his performance. – I think I rode “my way”. That fall was unnecessary, but I couldn’t avoid mistakes. I lost some points – it’s a pity. Generally, I evaluate this competition positively – said our interviewee.

The speedway rider explained what mistakes he made during the ride. – In the race with Mathias Pollestad, I simply rode badly. I neither went to the curb nor to the fence, and he took advantage of that – he revealed.

In the 11th race, due to a misunderstanding between the riders from UNIA Tarnów, Daniel Jeleniewski fell. How did he assess his health condition? – Everything is fine. My leg is slightly bruised, but the most important thing is that the bones are intact – he assured. Did this fall affect his further form? – No, I was leading in the rerun race, but after a slight mistake, I lost the first position. This is sports – everyone wants to win here. The riders from POLONIA Piła also rode well here, so it happens. And the 15th race is a lottery. I still had a weak third field, from which I think no one won a race. I did what I could – said the representative of UNIA Tarnów.

Just last season, 41-year-old rode in the colors of ABRAMCZYK POLONIA. Did he use the experience he gained on the Bydgoszcz oval? – Yes, but it just seems that way. Of course, it’s a small reference point. Adjustments are always made, on every track, every day. You have to do something slightly. I also made these adjustments now, but the ride was fairly good – admitted the speedway rider, who also talked about whether the match on a track that teams usually do not have contact with, affected the riders in any way. – I didn’t think about it at all, I focused on myself, on settings specifically for this track, and the opponent was not without significance. I just wanted to ride as well as possible – emphasized Jeleniewski.
