BETARD SPARTA one step to the semi-finals! ZOOLESZCZ GKM in a good position before the rematch

The first quarter-final match of the PGE Ekstraliga between BETARD SPARTA Wrocław and ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz ended with a score of 50:40. The best player on the hosts’ side was Artem Laguta (15), and on the guests’ side, it was Vadim Tarasenko (11+2). The Red Bull Junior Ace in this match was Jakub Krawczyk.

The junior race provided enormous excitement. Kacper Łobodziński first tried to challenge the leading Jakub Krawczyk. However, the BETARD SPARTA Wrocław rider did not let himself be overtaken. Marcel Kowolik, moving to the inside edge, passed the ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz junior and together with Jakub Krawczyk secured a double victory for the hosts. The first series of starts ended with the Polish vice-champions leading 14:10.

In race 6, Maciej Janowski chased Max Fricke, and Jaimon Lindsey pursued him in turn. The Pole managed to briefly take the first position, but Fricke quickly regained it. Lindsey disregarded Krawczyk‘s attacks and kept trying to overtake Maciej Janowski until the end. Ultimately, the guests won 4:2. After race 7, the scoreboard showed 24:18.

Race 9 was another display of speed by Artem Laguta. Despite the tightness, Daniel Bewley moved into second place after exiting the first turn. Max Fricke and Jaimon Lindsey could not put up a fight against the Wrocław riders. The third series of starts ended with a score of 33:27.

During race 12, Jakub Krawczyk moved into the lead without much trouble. He was chased by Jaimon Lindsey, but Bartłomiej Kowalski found space and positioned himself behind his teammate. The Australian took a long time preparing an attack on Bartłomiej Kowalski, but he managed to bring home two points and a double victory for the hosts. BETARD SPARTA Wrocław led by 10 points (44:34) before the nominated races.

Race 14 was mainly a fight for one point. Jaimon Lindsey competed for the race win with Jakub Krawczyk. The BETARD SPARTA Wrocław junior couldn’t defend the third place, drifting too wide. The Australian used his mistake to reduce Grudziądz’s point deficit to eight points. The last race brought a fight to the last meters for one point, which Bewley won.

After a fierce match, BETARD SPARTA Wrocław defeated ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz 50:40, thereby getting closer to the semi-finals of the PGE Ekstraliga.
