ABRAMCZYK Polonia Bydgoszcz Unsuccessful End of the Season [ANALYSIS]

Ten victories out of fourteen regular season matches and Krzysztof Buczkowski’s second place in the seniors’ classification proved insufficient to advance to the PGE Ekstraliga.

ABRAMCZYK Polonia Bydgoszcz was the leader of Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga from the start of the season. In the regular round, they lost only four matches, and then more in Poznan, Ostrów, and Rybnik, but that was in the final part of the season, which was not successful, and most importantly, led to a defeat in the decisive two-leg match against INNPRO ROW Rybnik.

Poor performance of the juniors
In the past season, Franciszek Karczewski with an average of 1.063 and Olivier Buszkiewicz (1.184) were the best junior players of the Bydgoszcz team, but their results placed them fifth among the best junior formations in Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga (data from the official application – Bydgoszcz players scored an average of 6.10 points in the league as U21 players).

Additionally, Olivier Buszkiewicz in July, a month before the final matches began, struggled with an injury and found it difficult to return to form after the fall. He admitted in an interview after the match with the club from Ostrów, – I have definitely made progress. It is visible from my results, my average. Unfortunately, I had an injury that significantly hindered me. However, I am trying to return to what was before and perform as well as possible.

In the past season, the junior formation of Bydgoszcz was not as strong as the previous year, when today’s junior of ORLEN OIL Motor Lublin – Wiktor Przyjemski led it.

After the first final match in Rybnik, Tomasz Bajerski, coach of the Polonia team admitted in an interview with po-bandzie.com.pl

– What the juniors did today is a tragedy. Another competition away is a total disaster. Add to that two huge mistakes on the last bends by Sorensen and Szczepaniak. Such things cannot happen in the final, and if they do, we have a result of 50:40 – Bajerski said notably irritated.

Cases of Lyager and Sorensen
The eleventh in the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga riders’ ranking with an average of 2.076 – Andreas Lyager lowered his form for the final match. In almost every regular season match from the end of July, he scored so-called double digits, but in this one with INNPRO ROW Rybnik only 7.

The Danish speedway rider didn’t suffer any injuries and seemed to be as reliable a member of ABRAMCZYK POLONIA as in Rybnik (12 points). Below are his statistics.

Only 26th position in the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga ranking with an average of 1.783 was occupied by Tim Sorensen. Instead of scoring around 8 points, he achieved only 5 in the return final, and his average at the stadium on Sportowa 2 street was 1.957 in the completed season, which surprises fans.

– The Rybnik team felt comfortable on our track. We performed poorly. Some couldn’t cope mentally or with the equipment. Therefore, the result is such as it is. We performed worse than Rybnik, and that’s all – concluded the seasonal comment Tomasz Bajerski.
