ŽUŽEL/NEWS/PGEE: Third time’s a charm? Can Thomsen reach the podium at MAXTO ITS IMME Zenon Plech Memorial?

This year’s edition of MAXTO ITS IMME Zenon Plech Memorial will be Anders Thomsen’s third opportunity to compete against the best riders of the PGE Ekstraliga. After two unsuccessful appearances in 2023 and 2024, the Dane hopes for a breakthrough. Will he finally manage to reach the podium?

The 2024 season saw the GEZET STAL Gorzów rider finishing with an average point per race of 2.096, which placed him 9th in the individual standings of the PGE Ekstraliga. Throughout the season, the Dane displayed a consistent and stable form, regularly scoring points both in crucial matches and against less challenging opponents. His fighting spirit on the track and determination in every situation only confirm that he is ready for even greater challenges in the upcoming years.

Anders Thomsen debuted in the IMME Zenon Plech Memorial in 2023. Unfortunately, it was quite an unlucky performance for the Dane, who after a strong start (two wins), had to withdraw from further competition due to health issues. He finished the event in 10th place. The following year, he failed to improve his result and ended up in 14th place, scoring only 6 points.

In the IMME Zenon Plech Memorial tournaments, the GEZET STAL Gorzów representative has participated in 7 races. His average points per race are 1.714.

Despite previous challenging performances, Thomsen certainly won’t give up on striving for the best result possible in the MAXTO ITS IMME Zenon Plech Memorial. After two previous editions, which didn’t end successfully, the Dane hopes for a breakthrough and to improve his results. His current form in the PGE Ekstraliga, along with his fighting spirit on the track, suggest he is capable of challenging his opponents and engaging in equal competition with the best riders. Time will tell if his third start in the Individual International Championship of the Ekstraliga Zenon Plech Memorial will be groundbreaking for him. Will the Łódź Moto Arena turn out to be lucky for him?
