ŻUŻEL/NEWS/PGEE: Martin Vaculik still without a victory in MAXTO ITS IMME Zenon Plech Memorial

The upcoming edition of the MAXTO ITS IMME Zenon Plech Memorial will be the ninth edition in which Martin Vaculik will participate. The Slovak has come close to victory several times, but has never managed to reach 1st place. Will the GEZET STAL Gorzów rider break his streak this time and win?

The 2024 season was successful for Martin Vaculik. An average score of 2.151 allowed him to be positioned at 7th place in the ranking of the best riders in PGE Ekstraliga. A similar number of points scored in home and away matches confirms the consistent form of the GEZET STAL Gorzów rider (92 and 96 points, respectively).

Martin Vaculik is one of the most decorated riders regularly participating in the Individual International Championship of the Extraliga Zenon Plech Memorial. The Slovak rider has appeared in the tournament eight times and often recorded high results. Although he has been close to final triumph several times, this result still remains out of his reach.

His first starts in the IMME Zenon Plech Memorial were in 2014 and 2015, when Vaculik was twice in the top echelon, finishing 3rd and 4th respectively. His performance in the 2014 season was particularly impressive, where he scored 13 points and narrowly lost the fight for victory. After a few years’ break, he returned to competition in 2019 and immediately proved his class, again finishing 3rd, scoring 12 points. In the following years, his results were variable – in 2020 he placed 13th, and a year later he was 11th, recording his weakest performances in his racing history.

However, Vaculik has not said his last word. In 2022 he once again entered the top “ten,” finishing the tournament in 7th place, and in 2023 he was already one step away from victory, taking 2nd place with 12 points. It was his best result in years, showing that he still counts in the fight for the highest goals.

In the last edition of the IMME Zenon Plech Memorial, in 2024, he once again showcased a solid form, finishing 5th and scoring 10 points. Although the title still eludes him, his consistency and determination make him one of the main contenders for victory in future editions.
