ŻUŻEL / NEWS / PGEE: IMME im. Zenona Plecha 2025 returns to Łódź

The Individual International Extraliga Championships in honor of Zenon Plech will take place on April 4 (the event starts at 19:00) at the Moto Arena in Łódź. Stars of the global speedway scene will once again come to Łódź. Last year, Bartosz Zmarzlik won in front of a full audience. The event will be broadcast on CANAL+ SPORT 5 and the CANAL+ streaming service.

A total of 16 riders nominated by the Speedway Extraliga will participate: 14 riders according to the average points per race after the 2024 season of the Team Polish Championships, the best junior of the PGE Extraliga in the 2024 youth races and a wildcard rider nominated by the Speedway Extraliga.

Wiktor Przyjemski entered the field of participants as the 13th rider in the PGE Extraliga 2024 among the classified, hence Oskar Paluch will compete as the next on the list among juniors.

The field will be complemented by a rider starting with a wildcard, whose name will be announced at a later date, along with two reserves.

Waiting riders (can be nominated to participate in the event in case of injury to designated riders, not event reserves): Jack Holder 1.978; Fredrik Lindgren 1.935; Maciej Janowski 1.903 and Vadim Tarasenko 1.861.

How will they compete for victory?

Traditionally, the IMME in honor of Zenon Plech will first feature a twenty-heat regular tournament, followed by two semifinal heats. The semifinal will see the riders classified in places 3-10 after the main tournament according to points scored. In case of ties, it will be decided by the number of first, second, third, and fourth places, direct duel, and ultimately a higher average points per race.

History of IMME in honor of Zenon Plech

So far, the event has taken place in four Polish cities: 2014 Tarnów, 2015 Leszno, 2016 – 2019 Gdańsk, 2020 – 2023 Toruń, 2024 Łódź.

Last year

Last year, ŁÓDŹ CREATES IMME in honor of Zenon Plech was won by Bartosz Zmarzlik, securing his fifth career victory. In the final, Jason Doyle finished second, and Fredrik Lindgren was third.

Bartosz Zmarzlik has won the IMME in 2019 (Gdańsk), 2020 and 2022-2023 (Toruń), and 2024 (Łódź).
