ŻUŻEL/NEWS/OTHER: In less than 100 days 2025 PZM FIM SPEEDWAY GRAND PRIX OF POLAND – WARSAW at PGE Narodowy

In less than a hundred days, the ninth edition of the Speedway Grand Prix tournament at the PGE Narodowy in Warsaw. On May 17, the world’s best speedway riders will compete in the second round of this year’s FIM World Championships cycle.

The inauguration is scheduled for May 3 in Landshut, Germany. From there, the riders will move to Warsaw at PGE Narodowy (May 17), and end the month in Prague, where they will compete on May 31. Other rounds are planned in Manchester, UK, returning to Poland at Gorzów, Swedish Malilla, Riga in Latvia, and Wrocław and Danish Vojens, where the medals for the Individual World Championships 2025 will be awarded.

Let’s recall, the Grand Prix cycle includes two Poles, Bartosz Zmarzlik and Dominik Kubera. Both representing ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin have entirely different experiences related to PGE Narodowy, where no Pole has won yet.

Last year, Mateusz Cierniak competed with a wild card in Warsaw, winning one race, in 2023, Dominik Kubera received the nomination, but after a fall in qualifications, he ultimately did not enter the track in the competition. Wild card history has varied in the past. In 2016, Patryk Dudek got the chance, finishing ninth.

How does the athlete view his chances before this year’s edition? – I hope that if the start of the season is good for me, there will be a chance for a wild card in Warsaw this seasonsaid Dudek for ekstraliga.pl.As for the speedway at PGE Narodowy, undoubtedly there will be a lot of fans. It could be the best event of my career and on such a facility. To be in the team at PGE Narodowy, one will need to gear up this and next year – he added.

The Grand Prix at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw has been organized since 2015. So far, Poles have managed to podium placements six times. In 2015, Jarosław Hampel (3rd place), in 2017 and 2018 Maciej Janowski (2nd place), and in 2019 Patryk Dudek (3rd place) and Bartosz Zmarzlik in 2023 (3rd place) and 2024 (2nd place).
