ŻUŻEL/INTERVIEW/PGEE: Oskar Fajfer Believes in a Better Season
10.02.2025 12:57
Oskar Fajfer will spend his third season at STAL Gorzów, but he cannot count the last year as successful, mainly due to injuries. In an interview for ekstraliga.pl, the rider talked about his preparations, his approach to the PGE Ekstraliga 2025, and…the support from the club in Gniezno.
- Fajfer has already completed a large part of the rehabilitation for his knee injury, which he sustained in Sweden at the end of the 2024 season.
- Running helps him with preparation and training daily.
- The upcoming season will definitely be better, I’m approaching it with great calm – said the STAL Gorzów representative about the PGE Ekstraliga 2025.

At the end of the last season in the Swedish league, Oskar Fajfer sustained a knee injury, which he treated over the winter period. Currently, our interviewee has no major problems and is fully dedicated to preparations for the new PGE Ekstraliga season. – For quite some time now, I feel good enough that I could already hop on a motorcycle and race. There are small “inadequacies” that need to be polished, but we have a month until training on the track resumes, so we will correct that. You could say everything is under control – everything is going very well – said the representative of STAL Gorzów in an interview for ekstraliga.pl.

It is precisely on the plans of the Gorzów club that the rider focuses the most. – Our training camp is being prepared so quickly that I don’t have to plan any trips or look for rides on the track. I focus on activities here and rely on the club plan. Around March 5th, a trip to Zarnovica is planned. If the weather allows us to go to the track in Poland around the same time, we will probably stay and look for local training – he added.
During the preparation period and beyond, Oskar Fajfer prefers running, which he also uses as a temporary break from daily life. – I couldn’t even imagine a lifestyle without running. It really resets my mind and allows me to refresh and forget about everything for a moment, to de-stress. This year, I had to give it up due to dealing with the injury after the surgery. I replaced it with cycling, and I really liked it. You have to manage somehow – said the speedway rider.

Before our interviewee is the third season in the PGE Ekstraliga and STAL Gorzów. He finished the previous edition with an average run score of 1.386, but the break in starts due to the knee injury also had an impact on this. – I absolutely do not analyze the previous season down to the smallest details, nor do I consider it as tragic. It’s a fact; I wish it had been better, but what happened to me, the injury, be it one or the other, that’s normal. I tried to ‘revive’ the season by returning with the injury. That really lowered my average since it’s hard to jump back into the most important matches when everyone is armed to the teeth, and you’re returning after a month break. I needed time to get back in. The next season will definitely be better. I’m approaching it with great calm. I have my plan, I know what I want to achieve, and I believe I will be a strong point for STAL – explained Oskar Fajfer.
In the past year, the graduate of the Gniezno club participated in the SGP round at the E. Jancarz stadium. Recently, Polish stadiums have been filled with numerous fans, and several installments of the cycle are taking place in the country. This year, the Grand Prix will come to the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw, the aforementioned Gorzów, and the Olympic Stadium in Wrocław. – For me, it’s a great thrill. We know we ride for ourselves and love doing it, but when the stadium is packed to the brim, it’s extra motivation to win. For me, it’s such a positive stimulus that I’m doing it for the fans – he added.

Besides representing the club from Gorzów, Oskar Fajfer also keeps track of what is happening in Gniezno. The speedway rider actively gets involved in helping ULTRAPUR START, which will compete in the National Speedway League. – I live in Gniezno, my father is a coach at the club, and he also lives with what’s going on there. I also help many guys, and they benefit from it. They often took engines from me. It’s known that I spent many years at START and want to help as a local patriot, even though I ride for STAL and am 100% dedicated to this club – he concluded.
