After a long and thrilling 2024 season, the time has come for the decisive battles for the PGE Ekstraliga medals. In the first leg for gold, BETARD SPARTA Wrocław lost 43:47 to ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin. This is the first defeat for Wrocław at the Olympic Stadium in this year’s competition.

The team from Wrocław went through most of the season without one of their leaders, Tai Woffinden. During the Grand Prix round in Gorzów, he sustained an injury and was forced to end his 2024 campaign prematurely. Before the start of the match, the club and fans thanked the Brit for 13 years with the Wrocław team. – I spent a third of my life here. These are incredible memories. Thank you for everything! said an emotional Woffinden, who will play next season with TEXOM STAL Rzeszów in the METALKAS 2nd Ekstraliga.

Jakub Krawczyk showed remarkable fighting spirit. This year’s Polish Junior Champion at the Toruń Motoarena had a serious crash in the SGP2 cycle. Despite numerous stitches, he took to the junior race and won after a fierce battle with Bartosz Bańbor. Unfortunately, he did not finish his second start and had to end his participation prematurely.

In the absence of Krawczyk, the burden of scoring points for the juniors fell on Marcel Kowolik. The youth rider took the tape five times, bringing in 4 points. – We were hoping to win on our home track. The gap is not big, we can make up for it in the rematch. I’m glad I won the 8th race. It feels great to win against such riders, added the junior from BETARD SPARTA Wrocław.

The rematch final is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th (7:15 PM). Broadcast on CANAL+ Sport and on the CANAL+ online service.
