In the 11th round of the PGE Ekstraliga, ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin defeated KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Czestochowa 48:42. Mads Hansen debuted on the Polish champions’ track in this match, but it was not a successful debut.

Most fans and experts expected a blowout on the track at 5 Zygmuntowskich Avenue in Lublin. That didn’t happen, and KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ gave a big scare to ORLEN OIL MOTOR.

One of the visiting team’s riders was Mads Hansen, who has been a revelation and a surprise this season. The Dane has a heat point average of 1.711. However, the match against the Polish champions was not one of his best.

I failed, though to be fair, it was my first time here. I could have chosen better gear ratios. I never got a good start from the tape, and that worries me a lot. I really liked this track, but I completely couldn’t adjust to it – said Hansen after the match.

Czestochowa was close to winning, but they missed points from one rider. Besides Hansen, Maksym Drabik and the juniors of KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ also didn’t perform too well.

We knew it wouldn’t be an easy match, and it wasn’t. The end of the match was quite close, but we were just short. The rest of the team, though not all of them, performed excellently. I mainly lacked good starts from the tape. I think we have nothing to be ashamed of – he added.

Now Czestochowa faces a tough away match in Torun against KS APATOR. Meanwhile, ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin will face the local team NOVYHOTEL FALUBAZ in Zielona Gora.
