H.SKRZYDLEWSKA ORZEŁ Łódź finished the season in METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga in sixth place. The team led by Maciej Jąder managed to advance to the play-off phase after a slower start to the competition. Tomasz Gapiński summarized the meeting in Ostrów Wielkopolski and the entire 2024 season.

The track in Ostrów Wielkopolski allowed for distance fighting, which was appreciated by the player from the Łódź team. – Just be happy that the track was well prepared for fighting and had great emotions. The most important thing is, as I say, that everything was healthy without crashes and I congratulate ARGED MALESA Ostrów on advancing to the next part of the competition – said Tomasz Gapiński.

The current captain of H.SKRZYDLEWSKA ORZEŁ Łódź, and formerly of ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wielkopolski himself, looking for causes of such a result in the two-legged match, went back to the previous week when the team from Łódź dictated the conditions for most of the match, but towards the end, the guests found the right adjustments and ultimately turned out better. In the rematch, the team from Ostrów managed to close the deal. – In Łódź, the last heats were decisive. We led the whole match and didn’t make bigger adjustments in our equipment, while the riders from Ostrów Wielkopolski made up the losses with their finish and overtook us. That was the key to this two-legged match. Here we tried to fight. Once it was 5:1 for the hosts, then 5:1 for us, and so on we “exchanged”. It’s a pity. We were really determined to fight for victory and advance further, even as a lucky loser – noted the speedway rider from Łódź.

It’s not known what the future holds for Tomasz Gapiński, who has had a tough season. While he is satisfied with his results in the second part of the season, the start wasn’t successful. He also doesn’t have the best memories from the previous year, as two injuries almost entirely sidelined him. – It’s not known what awaits me next year. Last season I practically didn’t ride at all due to two injuries that sidelined me. I think I only participated in five matches. This year the start also didn’t go as planned. I calmed my mind a bit and the end of the season was better for me. It wasn’t tragically bad overall. From mid-season to the end, it was decent, not tragic. The beginning wasn’t good – he concluded.
