SPEEDWAY/INTERVIEW/PGEE: Big support from Bartłomiej Kowalski for brother. “We can motivate each other”

– This is my best experience and my best race – and it was in front of a full stadium – said Bartłomiej Kowalski in an interview for ekstraliga.pl about competing at PGE Narodowy. The BETARD SPARTA Wrocław representative also talked about mutual motivation with his brother and preparations for the 2025 season.

Before Bartłomiej Kowalski, the final touches are being made before the start of the speedway spring and heading to the track. Currently, local activities and waiting for a club trip from Wrocław are planned. – I will continue the preparation plan locally – whether in Wrocław or at home. Besides training, I have to plan the logistics, as this is the time to finalize everything. Regarding the trip, only the BETARD SPARTA training camp is left. This will conclude the entire preparations – the vice-champion of PGE Ekstraliga 2024 said in an interview for ekstraliga.pl.

The young racer prefers strong winter conditions but also appreciates warmer climates for full preparation. This was the case recently during a national team camp in Malta. – This year’s winter isn’t ideal for me. These are the worst conditions possible. The true winter I like is when it’s snowy and frosty. I like this kind of climate. It’s only in the mountains that such conditions can be seen when I train for 2-3 days. Alternatively, I favor trips where you can catch some sun. In both climates, you can train excellently – explained Kowalski.

Last season in PGE Ekstraliga, the young talents of BETARD SPARTA Wrocław made significant progress. Both Nikodem Mikołajczyk and Marcel Kowolik thrilled fans with their performances. Their development can also be credited to the older team members. – From my own experience, whenever someone has a problem, they address it. We don’t just focus on ourselves; everyone tries to help. This is the same with my relationships with the juniors. I can’t answer everything because I’m still learning and can ask any senior for advice – stressed Bartłomiej Kowalski in an interview for ekstraliga.pl.

An important moment for our interviewee is the licensing of his younger brother – Radosław. Bartłomiej hopes to form a sibling duo on the track in the future. – When he was a young boy, he wasn’t interested in speedway. For over a year now, he’s started to get to know it because previously he was only interested in motocross, BMX, and bicycles. I was worried about the expectations because I have none. I’m not pushing him, but I would like such a duo. He has been told by me and our family that as long as he enjoys speedway and working around it, as he does now, he should ride and try. This season will show him how everything looks. The best thing I’ve noticed is that we can motivate each other because when I see his enthusiasm in training and in the workshop, I’m positively surprised and know that he can support me in difficult moments, encouraging me to engage more – he shared.

Bartłomiej Kowalski already had the opportunity to compete at PGE Narodowy during the FIM SGP. Last year he rode in one race, but two years ago, he replaced Dominik Kubera, who had an accident during qualifications. Then he managed to win in one of the starts. In the 2026 season, the final of the Speedway World Cup will take place there. – This is my best experience and my best race – and it was in front of a full stadium. This combination is wonderful.
