The rematch quarterfinal between ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz and #ORZECHOWAOSADA PSŻ Poznań was arguably the most thrilling match among the three remaining, ongoing at the same time. The fate of both teams was on the line until the very end. Ultimately, both teams advanced, and the rider of this match was Oleksandr Loktayev.

The Bydgoszcz-Poznań encounter had been anticipated for a week as one where the battle would be fought to the last meters of the final lap, since the favored ABRAMCZYK POLONIA lost in the first match to #ORZECHOWAOSADA PSŻ Poznań by 52:37, and on their own track, Tomasz Bajerski’s speedway riders have been performing very well all year, so making up the deficit was quite realistic.

The first series indicated an easy passage for Bydgoszcz. The start of the match was disastrous for the visitors, as after four races they were already losing 19:4, which meant a tie in the two-leg match and most likely no advancement for Poznań. The bad streak lasted until the ninth race, where #ORZECHOWAOSADA PSŻ won their first team race 4:2. Two races later, they managed to win 5:1, keeping them in the game.

Before the nominated races, the scoreboard showed a result of 45:32, which meant that both teams still had a chance to advance as well as end their season at the quarterfinal stage. Numerous crashes by the riders added additional drama towards the end of the match. Ultimately, Adam Skórnicki’s team scored the desired 38 points and will ride in the semi-final against INNPRO ROW Rybnik. ABRAMCZYK POLONIA, however, earned the status of lucky loser and will face ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp.
