Patrick Hansen is a rider who has a lot of fighting spirit. More than a year has passed since his severe accident on the track in Ostrów Wielkopolski, and now the 26-year-old has returned to the stadium as part of the Chain of Coat of Arms tournament. The Dane scored 5 points, including a win in one of the heats.

Overall, it’s good. In my earlier starts, I had such an even track without rain, but I feel good. During the tournament, when conditions became more challenging, I felt there was still a bit missing, but it’s not that bad. I think by spring it should be ok – assessed Patrick Hansen.

The Dane, with his heroic attitude, shows how important the role of the mind and belief that much can be worked upon is in the return to fitness. Despite the small number of starts, he experienced changing track conditions, which are often encountered throughout the season. – In the last race, I had the opportunity to overtake. I didn’t feel confident, but I felt fast. I really think that before the injury, I would have already overtaken him. I believe it’s not that bad, but there’s a lot of work ahead of us – he announced.

Returning to the track in Ostrów was an extremely important event this season for Patrick Hansen. The Dane performed in the colors of the local ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wielkopolski in the 2021 season. The athlete was the revelation of the season. He became a fans’ favorite, who gave him a warm welcome.

– It was very nice and for that, I thank you very much. It’s always nice to come back here. I had a lot of great moments. It’s one of my favorite tracks, and I’m happy I had the opportunity to race here now – expressed with joy Patrick Hansen.

For the rider, returning to professional speedway after a serious injury, which happened on the track in Ostrów Wielkopolski (August 26, 2023), is ahead. Currently, there are plans for another surgery aimed at removing the orthopedic support used during the healing process. – It wasn’t easy. I can supposedly ride with these screws, but I feel that they hinder me. I think after the procedure, it will be much better. I will be able to train harder, include gym workouts – do more exercises because right now there are things I simply can’t do. I feel still limited by them. I think if everything is alright with the head, everything should be good by spring – concluded the rider.

Hansen was accompanied by a film crew from CANAL+ during the tournament. The reason for this is a documentary being made about the rider’s return to fitness and competition. The premiere of the series Patrick Hansen. Impossible will be available on CANAL+ online from November 17.
