ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin Team Polish Champion 2024!

In the recently concluded final rematch of the PGE Ekstraliga, ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin confidently defeated BETARD SPARTA Wrocław 52:38 (99:81), winning the Team Polish Championship title for the third time in a row. The home team’s leader was Dominik Kubera (10+2), while the top scorer for the guests was Artem Laguta (14+1).

The winner of the PGE Ekstraliga was initially supposed to be determined on Saturday, October 5th, but due to adverse weather forecasts, the final was postponed to Monday. Before the start of the match, Bartosz Zmarzlik, Wiktor Przyjemski, and Fredrik Lindgren were distinguished for achieving titles as world champions for the Poles and a bronze medal for the Swede in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix cycle.

The first series of starts began with a tie. The next three races ended with a double win for the hosts, who already had a 12-point advantage over the BETARD SPARTA Wrocław team after just four heats. In the two-round match, it was 65:49 for Lublin.

The second series confirmed the strength of the hosts. The guests tried to patch the gaps with the tactical reserve in the form of Artem Laguta, but it only resulted in a draw, and in the last race of the series, the Lublin team won again with a double victory, increasing the lead to sixteen points. In the two-round match, it was 76:56 for ORLEN OIL MOTOR.

The third series was almost identical to the second – two ties and a double win for the hosts. Lublin needed only three more points to secure the championship. The match score was 40:20, and in the two-round match, it was 87:63.

The beginning of the fourth series of starts saw the first team victory for the guests. However, it was not enough, as in the twelfth heat, the hosts won 4:2 and secured the Team Polish Championship. The last race of this series was a double victory for the guests, although in this race Przyjemski replaced Bartosz Zmarzlik.

It is worth noting that the third consecutive title for ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin gives them ownership of the PGE Ekstraliga trophy. In the 14th heat, the hosts won 4:2. In the final heat, the hosts were represented by the pair Bańbor-Jaworski, which the guests took advantage of by winning doubly. Ultimately, Lublin won the match 52:38, and the two-round match 99:81.

Artem Laguta, with his performance in Lublin, sealed victory in the individual standings of the PGE Ekstraliga, averaging 2.462 points per race.
