New Regulations for the 2025 Season
31.10.2024 15:35The Polish Motor Association website has published new regulations to be in effect for 2025. The most important changes include a new competition system and the institution of a guest.
Updated regulations have been posted on pzm.pl:
- Regulations for Ekstraliga Competitions
- Regulations for 2nd Ekstraliga Competitions
- Regulations for U24 Ekstraliga Competitions
- Regulation of Club Membership in Speedway
- A Set of Rules Regulating Relations Between the Rider and the Club
- Track Regulations for Motorcycle Speedway Competitions
The most important changes concern the naming of competition classes, updated as Ekstraliga, 2nd Ekstraliga, and National Speedway League. Also, changes involve the institution of the so-called medical guest, which will function in the final rounds of the PGE Ekstraliga and Metalkas 2nd Ekstraliga, but only if at least two riders with the three best average race points are injured.
If a team has two such riders, one must be registered as a substitute rider, and the other can be replaced by a “medical guest”. In the case of three riders, one must be registered as a substitute rider, and each of the other two can be replaced by a “medical guest”.
A “medical guest” can only have club membership with a lower-class competition club. In case of scheduling conflicts, the “medical guest” has priority to start on the day of the club where they have a valid contract for the season.
The “medical guest” must be registered under numbers 1-5 or 9-13. In a given competition season, a “medical guest” rider can start for only one team.
A new cup competition system divided into play-offs and play-downs has also been introduced to PGEE and M2E. We wrote about it a year ago HERE.
