Negative recommendation for UNIA Tarnów, START Gniezno verification procedure

Ekstraliga Żużlowa Sp. z o.o., as the managing body of the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga competitions, issued today a negative recommendation for UNIA Tarnów ŻSSA due to the failure to submit a written statement of intent to apply for a license to participate in the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga in the 2025 season. According to the Licensing Regulations, submitting the statement is necessary to initiate the evaluation process of the promoted club, including, among others, a financial audit of the club conducted by an auditor appointed by EŻ and an infrastructure audit.

The negative recommendation, once it becomes final, will mean that the Tarnów club will not be considered when determining the team composition of the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga in the 2025 season in case of winning the KLŻ competitions. The decision is not final. UNIA Tarnów ŻSSA can appeal to the Presidium of the ZG PZM within 7 days from the date of receipt.

The second finalist of KLŻ 2024, GTM START Gniezno, submitted a statement of intent to apply for a license for the 2025 season in the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, and thus the verification procedure has begun.

According to the Licensing Regulations, Clubs are required to submit a written statement of intent or resignation from applying for a license within 3 days from the date of securing advancement to the KLŻ finals, indicating the sports facility where they will play their matches in the next season.

Within 7 days from the date of submitting the statement, they must undergo a full financial audit conducted by an auditor appointed by EŻ.
