Mathias Pollestad before a new chapter in his career
19.11.2024 08:59Mathias Pollestad is the new acquisition of CELLFAST WILKÓW Krosno. The Norwegian will debut in the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga next year.
Mathias Pollestad is a player mainly associated with ENEA STAL Gorzów, where he gained valuable experience in the U24 Ekstraliga competition. With an average score of 2.293, he ranked eighth in the league’s top player classification.
– In my opinion, the past season was my best so far. I’m definitely most pleased with winning the bronze medal in SGP2 – summarized last season’s second Individual Junior World Runner-up.
The 19-year-old speedway rider from the land of fjords also had several successful performances at the lowest competitive level in Poland. Representing POLONIA Piła, he scored 63 points and 7 bonuses in 34 races, resulting in an average score of 2.059. The Norwegian, who developed under the guidance of the great legend – Hans Nielsen, in the Greater Poland club, ranked 9th in the classification of the most effective players in the National Speedway League, leaving behind many more experienced riders.
– I also think that racing in the U24 Ekstraliga helped me a lot, and as for racing in the National Speedway League, it was a really good time and another important step in my development, which certainly influenced my performance in the U24 Ekstraliga. I also very positively assess the cooperation with Hans Nielsen, who gave me several valuable tips, which turned out to be very helpful for me – added the new trainee of coach Piotr Świderski.
In next year’s competition at the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga level, he will score points for CELLFAST WILKÓW Krosno, where he is expected to be a key player in the U24 position. How does the player himself approach the new challenge?
– I’m not thinking too much about next year in CELLFAST WILKI Krosno, but I want to be a stronger player than last year. I also hope to become a top player in the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga and especially among U24 category players – said the speedway rider of Krosno’s CELLFAST WILKI.
