The pre-Christmas period is the time for announcing the schedules of the PGE Ekstraliga and METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga for the 2025 season. The interest from fans and people connected to the environment was significant, resulting in over 1.5 million reach of posts on social media.

The evening magazine of PGE Ekstraliga was available on the station’s YouTube channel, where the material currently has 12 thousand views. The program is still available HERE. The program was also available both on CANAL+ Sport, CANAL+ Sport, and on the CANAL+ online service.

There was also significant activity on the Speedway Ekstraliga profiles, where from the morning hours of the schedule announcement day, a series of messages and activities were prepared for speedway sports fans. In total, over 1.5 million reach was recorded on the profiles of the governing body of the two highest leagues in Poland.

Communications efforts mainly focused on illustrating the new league system, the creation of schedules, and changes in METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga match slots. Fans could also join the discussions, including about their club’s dream opening match. There were also interviews with club representatives, the President of the Ekstraliga Żużlowa, and the Head of the Speedway Section at CANAL+.

From 2025, all matches will be available not only on the CANAL+ online service but also on television. The new addition is Thursday dates because with so many matches, they can’t all fit into the schedule and on television on Saturdays and Sundays. From the new season, in METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, each club will host a seasonal game on a Thursday – said Wojciech Stępniewski, President of the Ekstraliga Żużlowa. The full interview is available HERE.

CANAL+ is the exclusive rights holder to the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga games, and all matches of this class will be broadcast on our channel CANAL+ Sport5. I mention this because there will be such game weekends where on our channels, in one day, we broadcast four matches of two different leagues, so consultations with the Ekstraliga Żużlowa regarding their scheduling hours really await us – emphasized Maciej Glazik, head of the Speedway editorial team at CANAL+. The conversation is available HERE.
