Kubera’s Good Season, Successful Farewell for Przedpełski (PGE Ekstraliga Finals Curiosities)
10.10.2024 11:21The final decisions of the 2024 PGE Ekstraliga season are now behind us. ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin became the Team Champion of Poland for the third consecutive time. In the final, they confidently defeated BETARD SPARTA Wrocław. Meanwhile, in the two-match series for the bronze medal, KS APATOR Toruń triumphed again as they did last year, leaving no doubt against EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów.
- For the third time this season, there was a match-up between EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów and KS APATOR Toruń. Interestingly, each time the chosen set for the nominated races was set 1.
- During the first final match between BETARD SPARTA Wrocław and ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin, Artem Laguta had a total of 95 races after his three. This was the same as last year. His average compared to that of the previous season was better by a precise 0.2 points per race.
- Maciej Janowski did not have a very good performance in Wrocław. For one of the leaders of the Polish vice-champions, this home season was unexpectedly weak. His home average was the worst since 2016. Additionally, he only rode in the fifteenth race once.
- This season was successful for Patryk Dudek. One of the three leaders of KS APATOR Toruń finished the season with an average of 2.056. Interestingly, the rider had the exact same average as in the 2017 season.
- Another good season for Dominik Kubera as well. For the third time in a row, he finished the competition in the top ten for the best race point averages. At home, he has a very good streak – 4 consecutive matches with a score of 10 points. In these matches, he is also unbeaten in the second series of starts, which for him is in the 7th race.
- Paweł Przedpełski successfully bid farewell to KS APATOR Toruń. The club’s native son scored 10 points, surpassing the 1300-point mark obtained in the PGE Ekstraliga. He now has 1307 points.
- The last four matches of ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin were played following the 2nd track set.
- Emil Sajfutdinow had his best match of the season against ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin, with which his KS APATOR Toruń lost the semi-final two-match. Anders Thomsen had his best match of the season with BETARD SPARTA Wrocław, with which his EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów lost in the semi-final. Interestingly, both riders scored 186 points this season, but Sajfutdinow ended with a higher average than Thomsen.
