In the final round of the regular phase of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz defeated TEXOM STAL Rzeszów 52:37. Krzysztof Buczkowski, who scored 11 points in this match, shared his feelings about the game.

In an interview for ekstraliga.pl, the team’s leader from Bydgoszcz revealed whether he is satisfied with the match result. – Of course, yes. Not everything went smoothly in every race, so we have to be prepared for any circumstance. This time it was good. I think the result was convincing. In the middle of the match, when the team from Rzeszów caught up with us by 5 points, we had to concentrate more. It’s good that we won and showed that we are really very strong on our own track – he confessed. From the 12th race onwards, the hosts achieved three double victories. Was it because the Bydgoszcz team found a solution? – I think TEXOM STAL Rzeszów found something for our track. The track was a bit different, but we have to cope. I think we still need to work on it – added the leader from Bydgoszcz.

Krzysztof Buczkowski also explained how the Bydgoszcz track was different in this match. – The outside line wasn’t as fast, more the inside curb on the second turn, so there’s a bit of a difference. It was a different time of the day overall, and the surface behaved differently. We had a backup sprinkler system, so the sprinkling was as it was, but we have to cope. Now we have a bit of a break, so we need to train, heal up, and keep going – he admitted. Does the ABRAMCZYK POLONIA rider prefer the standard time for events, or does he like riding under artificial lights? – The floodlights in Bydgoszcz need renovation because it’s very dark. It was good that the event didn’t drag on and everything was visible. At the IMP, there was a bit of a problem. At these events, I rode under the floodlights in Bydgoszcz for the first time in maybe 10 years. There’s a bit of a difference, but we had training, so we could practice, so it’s good – he noted.

In the 13th race, on the first turn, there was a clash between the riders, which resulted in Buczkowski’s fall. Was it a typical track situation? – Yes, it was quite tight. We went into the turn with three of us, and everyone wanted to take the best line and we met. I am a bit bruised, but I think it’s not bad – he answered.

The day before the match in Bydgoszcz, ABRAMCZYK POLONIA tried a different sport. Together with UKS Dęby Osielsko, the riders had a baseball training session. How were the impressions after trying this sport? – Honestly, I was more of an observer. I touched the baseball bat once, hit a few balls, and that was it. There was a match, but the guys played, and it was cool. We had a pleasant time – the speedway rider revealed. – It’s something completely different. I won’t hide that I watch various sports from the United States and have a bit of an idea about the rules of the game. It’s a nice distraction from speedway and we could talk about something else – concluded Krzysztof Buczkowski.
