FOGO UNIA Leszno bid farewell to PGE Ekstraliga with a spectacular victory. The blue and whites concluded the season by defeating EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów at home 53:37, with Keynan Rew contributing two points to the team’s tally.

This time the Australian did not start in the initial lineup as Rafał Okoniewski placed him at number 16. After two series of heats, Rew replaced Nazar Parnitskyi and scored one point in each of the next two races, defeating Martin Vaculik and Jakub Miśkowiak.

– It’s definitely a tougher scenario. It wasn’t easy to hit the stride in the middle of the match, but it’s certainly good that I got the chance to ride on the track – said Keynan Rew after the match in an interview with ekstraliga.pl.

The size of Leszno’s victory was the largest of the season and unexpected, especially since their relegation from PGE Ekstraliga was certain even before the match began. – It’s a solid victory and probably somewhat surprising to some, but it shows that if not for the injuries, we could be in a different place – emphasized the Australian. – It’s terribly unfortunate that we’re relegating from PGE Ekstraliga. It was a tough and injury-filled season, and in the end, we were so close to staying up, yet so far – added the U24 player of FOGO UNIA Leszno.

After Leszno’s relegation, Rew is one of the players whose future is uncertain. Janusz Kołodziej, Grzegorz Zengota, and Nazar Parnitskyi, the other U24 player, will remain with the team. – I still don’t know what my future will look like. We have to wait a bit longer. Leszno is my home and has a special place in my heart; I’ve been riding here for years and know everyone very well – Rew responded when asked about a transfer.
