Kai Huckenbeck: we made too many mistakes

The last match of the 2024 METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga season brought many emotions to the fans. ABRAMCZYK POLONII Bydgoszcz failed to make up a 10-point deficit, resulting in INNPRO ROW Rybnik’s promotion to the PGE Ekstraliga. Kai Huckenbeck talked about the difficulties in the final match.

In an interview for ekstraliga.pl, the home team leader admitted that he was certain they would make up the deficit on their home track. – I feel very disappointed. I was sure we would achieve the goal because we had many good moments during this season. Now I felt confident, I rode a very good match. Unfortunately, we made too many mistakes, we lost a few points. Ultimately, it’s just one point – he revealed.

The German also explained what happened in the last race of the day, which decided the lack of promotion. – After the start, I saw that Krzysztof Buczkowski was close to me. He was chasing Brady Kurtz by the fence. I couldn’t go there. Maybe we made a mistake with the starting positions? Who knows – he said. Did additional pressure also decide such a scenario? – Not really. I rode very well. I had worse matches during this season. During this match, I was constantly focused – the speedway rider confessed.

The ABRAMCZYK POLONII Bydgoszcz rider revealed whether he has already made a decision about the club he will represent. – I talked to some clubs. I haven’t decided yet. I think it will happen in the next few days – he said. Will it be the Bydgoszcz club? – Maybe – concluded Kai Huckenbeck.
