ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz took an important step towards staying in the PGE Ekstraliga in Leszno. The proteges of Robert Kościecha defended the bonus in the two-legged match against FOGO UNIA. However, Kacper Pludra, a U24 team rider from Grudziądz, fought his own battle.

Pludra immediately after the match positively assessed his team’s result but did not hide his dissatisfaction with his individual performance. In three starts in Leszno, he scored a point with a bonus. – The team rode well, which I can’t say about myself. This season has not been going my way from the beginning, and nothing is falling into place. This was also the case in this match – admitted the young rider.

The ZOOLESZCZ GKM rider talked about the difficulties he had to face during the competition. – I had a fall in a competition in Sweden, and in the first race, I didn’t feel confident because my hand hurt. Fortunately, it turned out that I could manage, and it wasn’t that bad. I also did a lot of work with the physiotherapist and doctors to get me back to full fitness. It was just a bruise, but I felt pain. However, as the competition went on and the adrenaline kicked in, it became less and less – said Kacper Pludra in an interview for ekstraliga.pl.

– I didn’t allow myself to think that I might not compete in the match. As I mentioned, it was worst in the first race. After that fall, it was my first time sitting on the bike. I felt that hand, but as time went on, it was fine – he added.

The Grudziądz team took an important step in the context of the fight to stay in the PGE Ekstraliga. The bonus they earned could prove invaluable in the final settlement with FOGO UNIA Leszno. – This season is crazy at the bottom and the top of the table. There is a lot of rotation, and every point, even such a bonus one, can be worth its weight in staying. There are still a few matches left, and we will see how it ends – announced Kacper Pludra.
