In the first final match of the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga between INNPRO ROW Rybnik and ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz, the former was better by ten points. We are in for an exciting rematch in the capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. What attractions await the fans, who will be in the stands, and how did the Bydgoszcz speedway riders prepare for this match? Jerzy Kanclerz, the president of ABRAMCZYK POLONIA, talks about these topics.

Marcin Rusewicz (ekstraliga.pl): It is known that interest in the final in Bydgoszcz is high, but can you say it exceeded your expectations? Is this the most important speedway event of the decade in Bydgoszcz?

Jerzy Kanclerz: Absolutely! This is the most important speedway event of the decade. I have been waiting for this moment, now we need to put the finishing touch to it. This is my sports dream that I’ve had in mind for many years. I hope everything will go well. I wish that for myself and the fans.

You have the best attendance in the entire METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, with an average of over 7,000 people per match. How many fans will be present at the final? What attendance do you expect?

As of today, I can say that it will be 11,000 spectators.

Due to the high interest in the final, you are building an additional stand. Where exactly will it be located? How much will it increase the stadium’s capacity? Who will be sitting there?

The additional stand is set up in front of the Main Stand. It has 350 seats and will primarily seat sponsors and people who have been associated with the club since I took over, and these people deserve these seats. I also want to add that because a large part of the sponsors will be seated in the additional stand, more seats in the Main Stand were available for sale to fans.

When did the idea to add the additional stand come about?

We had this idea in mind during the closed sale, where we already saw how great the interest was. To meet the expectations of the fans, we quickly made this decision, and thanks to this, we could sell more seats in the Main Stand. I want to emphasize that interest in tickets for this match exceeded our expectations.

Special guests will be present at the final, not necessarily from the world of speedway. Who will it be? Definitely Zbigniew Boniek…

Of course, I talked to Zbyszek, he really wants to come, although his arrival is still uncertain. From what I know, there will be parliamentarians, Lieutenant Governor Michał Sztybel, Mayor Rafał Bruski, and other local officials. Attendance will be very high, with significant people, and I am very happy about that.

What additional attractions can fans gathered at the Bydgoszcz stadium count on?

This will be a special match. Its rank is very high. The setting of this match will also be exceptional. CO2 ejectors and flames will be laid out on the turf to further emphasize that it is the last and most important match of the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga season. And after the match, there will be a ceremony, podium, and confetti. Everything will take place according to the Speedway Ekstraliga scenario.

How did the speedway riders prepare for this final? All in the old and proven way, or were there any new, special elements added to the training?

We are in such a competitive cycle that we relied on proven methods. Before the semi-final match in Ostrów, we trained in Częstochowa. Now we trained in Bydgoszcz. If any of the riders need additional training, they will still have the opportunity the day before the match. But that decision is made by the rider together with the coaching staff.
