Maciej Janowski scored 10 points and a bonus in the return semifinal match against EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów. The Wrocław team made it to the final of the 2024 PGE Ekstraliga, where they will face the title defenders – ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin.

There was a big question mark over Maciej Janowski’s participation. During the final round of the Speedway Euro Championship in Chorzów, there was an accident involving the Pole. His left hand got caught between the fender and the rear wheel of his opponent. – When I was in the ambulance on Saturday, I was convinced it was the end of the season. Huge thanks to my physiotherapist Eliasz and the doctor, who did everything so I could compete. Day by day, it got better. A large part of my hand is burned, and that’s what bothers me the most – explained the speedway rider.

BETARD SPARTA Wrocław remains undefeated on their home track, as well as in the playoffs. – I’m glad I could participate in this match. It was very important to be with the team and fight for the PGE Ekstraliga final. It’s been a tough season for us. We’ve been riding for a long time without Tai Woffinden, one of our leaders, so this final feels really good – added Janowski.

Last year in the final, the Wrocław team, with a reduced squad, won the silver medal. Due to injuries, the captain of BETARD SPARTA did not line up. What attitude does he have before the rematch with ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin? – I’m hungry for victory every time I get on a motorcycle. We will surely give our all. We have worked hard on these two matches all season. I believe we are a stronger team than last year. ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin is the Polish champion and a very strong team, as they showed in the semifinal. We won’t sell our skin cheaply – concluded Maciej Janowski.

The first final match between BETARD SPARTA Wrocław and ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin is scheduled for September 29 at 19:15 at the Olympic Stadium. Broadcast on CANAL+ Sport and via CANAL+ online.
