Norbert Giżyński (ekstraliga.pl): Welcome back to Częstochowa. How do you feel about returning to KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZA Częstochowa? Are you highly motivated?
Franciszek Karczewski (KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Częstochowa): I feel very good. I believe I completed a year of hard work competing for ABRAMCZYK POLONIA. I’m prepared to return to Częstochowa and show my best side. As for my attitude – I think it’s as always, fighting. I want to achieve the best results for the team and develop further.
I ask because you started your speedway journey in Ostrów Wielkopolski, but it’s commonly said that you’re a product of KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZA. Exactly, as a representative of the Częstochowa club, you passed your 500cc license exam.
It’s known that I have spent many years in Częstochowa. This year will be my eighth in this city. I’ll admit, it’s like a second home, as I’ve ‘ridden’ many laps on the local track. I really feel like I’m at home. I know the city well, especially the stadium and track – almost like the back of my hand. So you can say I’m a product of the Częstochowa club.

I assume one of your goals is to break into the main team at the beginning of the 2025 PGE Ekstraliga season.
Of course, it is. It is one of my main goals. I want to quickly get into the squad and participate in as many matches in the PGE Ekstraliga as possible.
About a month and a half remain until the start of the PGE Ekstraliga season. Can you, at least preliminarily, tell us about your mindset for the opening match, where you will face BAYERSYSTEM GKM Grudziądz at home?
There’s still some time left. However, the mindset is certainly to strive for victory in this match, with the best outcome. Personally, I would also like to present myself as best as possible in the clash with the Grudziądz team. It will certainly be great to start the season well. We’ll see, though, how it will ultimately be. Time will tell.
Can’t wait to hit the track?
Certainly. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. I miss riding to the left a bit. I hope it won’t be long before we hit the track.
