The play-off phase of the 2024 PGE Ekstraliga season began last weekend. In it, the favorites did not disappoint. The Polish champions from Lublin comfortably won in Zielona Góra, the national runners-up defeated Grudziądz, and the team from Gorzów won an away match against the weakened team from Toruń.

  • The match between NOVYHOTEL FALUBAZ Zielona Góra and ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin was not completely successful for Mateusz Cierniak. The U24 rider scored 5 points in 4 starts. Interestingly, Cierniak started a match with a “zero” for the first time this season.
  • Patryk Dudek had a successful match against EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów. Although he started not the best, he triumphed in his last 3 starts. Thus, the KS APATOR rider surpassed the 2200-point mark in the PGE Ekstraliga. He currently has 2204 points.
  • A successful presentation was made by ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz at the Olympic Stadium. The guests achieved their minimum goal, taking 40 points from Wroclaw. Jaimon Lidsey assisted, who interestingly started the third match in a row against BETARD SPARTA with a win.

  • Martin Vaculik is performing phenomenally at Motoarena. The EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów rider has had a streak of 5 consecutive matches with “double-digits” on this track as a guest since 2019. Since then, his average is 2.192.
  • Piotr Pawlicki did not perform well during the quarter-final in Zielona Góra. The PGE Ekstraliga rookie scored only 5 points in 4 starts. Interestingly, the younger of the Pawlicki brothers has a series of 18 consecutive heats against the Lublin club without an individual victory.
  • Daniel Bewley had a decent event. Despite a weak start, the Brit gathered 8 points and 2 bonuses. Bewley, however, has now a streak of 5 consecutive matches without a “double-digit.” The last time was in a match against KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Częstochowa on June 28 (he then scored 11 points and a bonus). His worst streak was in 2021, when he had 8 consecutive meetings without a double-digit score.
