The grand final of the PGE Ekstraliga 2024 in Lublin is approaching rapidly. Thus, once again fans will have the opportunity to witness the spectacular medal ceremony on the podium that premiered last year in Wrocław. The passing trophy, awarded to the Team Polish Champions, will also be present.

Since the 2018 season, the Polish Champion has been awarded a trophy (65 cm in height and 7.5 kg in weight), engraved with the club’s name and date of the success after the last race of the second final match. After twelve months, the winner will have a replica of the cup in their collection. The original will be passed to the next triumphant team of the PGE Ekstraliga. If a club wins the competition for the third consecutive time, they will receive it permanently.

The first recipient of such a trophy was FOGO UNIA Leszno (for their triumph from 2017-2019). The team from Leszno also won in the 2020 season, but their streak was interrupted in 2021 by BETARD SPARTA Wrocław. In the next two seasons (2022 and 2023), the trophy was lifted by the Lublin club. If ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin wins the final this year, the trophy will join their club showcase. It will also mean a new passing trophy until one of the teams wins the Polish Championship thrice in a row again.

Since 2007, the professional league competition has been managed by the Speedway Ekstraliga. Last year, a new podium debuted in Wrocław, which fans will see again in Lublin.

The podium will measure over 14 meters in length, with special spots for two teams. Awaiting the winners of the PGE Ekstraliga are medals, the passing trophy, and other necessary elements for a ceremonial conclusion, such as sashes. Each year, the passing trophy is engraved with the name of the club – the winner of the PGE Ekstraliga. The tall podium, over 4 meters high, will ensure visibility of the athletes on both sides of the stadium pitch at Aleje Zygmuntowskie, but at the same time will not hinder observation of the races during the competition (the whole unit will be assembled after the 15th race of the match).

According to the DMP regulations for the 2024 season, the teams that place in the top three after the final phase will also receive medals (gold, silver, and bronze) and commemorative sashes. No more than 10 players in a team, the club, and the first coach or manager receive medals.
