This year’s FIM SoN final ended with a victory for the Great Britain team, marking their second win in the history of this competition. Australia placed 2nd, with Sweden coming in 3rd. All three podium positions were filled by the same teams that fought for the win in Vojens two years ago. This year’s edition was once again not too fortunate for the Polish team, which finished in 5th place.

From the very beginning of the competition, the teams of Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, and Australia showed strong performances on the Manchester oval. Ultimately, these teams competed for gold that evening. The first of these teams took the lead after just two series of events.

Heat 11 caused trouble for the Polish team. Bartosz Zmarzlik was excluded by the referee for touching the tape, which led to a protest from the world champion. However, it had no effect. We had to restart the race twice. The first time, the starting machine didn’t work. The second time, a lone Dominik Kubera added four points to the Polish tally.

After four series of events, the Australian team took the lead, showing an exceptional performance in this year’s tournament. The Polish team, meanwhile, was getting closer to qualifying for the playoff heat.

The final heat of the main phase determined the final position of the Polish team, which needed a 6:3 result to advance. Ultimately, the Australians won the heat (7:2), securing their place in the final race.

The best performer among the Polish team was Dominik Kubera (13). Bartosz Zmarzlik (11) had a bit more misfortune that evening. Patryk Dudek, who took the place of Maciej Janowski, did not get the opportunity to race.

In the playoff heat, Great Britain competed against Sweden. The hosts ultimately won. In the final race of the evening, Great Britain and Australia competed for gold.

All four racers delivered a thrilling performance. After many overtakes, the pair Lambert – Bewley crossed the finish line at 7:2, winning this year’s edition of the FIM Speedway of Nations.
