The second of Sunday’s PGE Ekstraliga semifinal matches provided plenty of emotions. BETARD SPARTA Wrocław narrowly defeated EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów. The match ended with a score of 46:44, and the final result before the rematch was decided in the last race.

EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów started the match with a slight edge thanks to the victory of Martin Vaculik and Szymon Woźniak. The junior race began disastrously. Jakub Stojanowski shot off at the start but after the race was interrupted, he clipped Oskar Paluch’s wheel and fell. Home team junior Marcel Kowolik couldn’t avoid him. The accident didn’t look good, but fortunately, both riders continued the competition.

Adam Bednar excelled in the third heat of the day, scoring his first three points in the PGE Ekstraliga. Before the end of the first series, the home team increased their lead to 10 points.

After the break, Dariusz Śledź’s protégés had to start making up lost ground. In the fifth race, Bartłomiej Kowalski and Artem Laguta secured a win. The guests continued to push and applied a tactical reserve, which they used to the best possible effect. The work done by the team was maintained by Maciej Janowski, who confidently won in race no. 7.

With each passing minute, the excitement grew. Artem Laguta raced brilliantly. The leader of BETARD SPARTA had a great battle with Anders Thomsen, bringing the score to a tie midway through the match. After the third series of starts, EBUT.PL STAL regained a two-point lead thanks to Martin Vaculik’s win over Maciej Janowski.

The Spartans responded a few moments later. The emotions reached a peak towards the end. The hosts won race no. 12 by a double, but the scenario repeated itself. Before the nominated races, the visitors won 5:1 thanks to the pair Janowski-Laguta. The fourteenth race proved crucial when Bartłomiej Kowalski overtook Anders Thomsen. The final battle was fiercely contested. The hosts led 5:1, but Laguta overtook Jakub Miśkowiak, who then lost his position to Janowski on the last lap.
