BETARD SPARTA Wrocław in the final of PGE Ekstraliga 2024

BETARD SPARTA Wrocław advanced to the final of PGE Ekstraliga 2024. The protégés of Dariusz Śledź defeated EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów 50:40 in the Wednesday rematch.

Thus, for the second time in a row, the team will face ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin in the most important two-legged match of the season.

The long-awaited match promised to be even and exciting. The inaugural race fell to the hosts with a score of 4:2. On the distance, Artem Laguta overtook Martin Vaculik, who had led from the start. The guests quickly tried to make up the loss, but the next two races ended in a draw. They succeeded in the fourth heat of the day thanks to the victory of Jakub Miśkowiak and Oskar Paluch.

After the break, we saw points being divided again, but emotions were high on the track in Wrocław. Numerous overtakes signaled excitement until the very end. BETARD SPARTA increased their lead over their rivals in race number 7. Anders Thomsen, during the battle for the lead with Artem Laguta, lost control of his bike. Consequently, the Dane went wide and hit the air barrier. However, he managed to lose momentum before the whole incident.

The decisive blows were delivered by the protégés of Dariusz Śledź in the third series of starts. The pair Laguta-Janowski dominated the ninth race. A few moments later, Jakub Krawczyk replaced Francis Gusts on the track. The change proved successful as the local junior finished ahead of Anders Thomsen, allowing the hosts to win again 5:1.

Coach Stanisław Chomski used tactical reserves, but the leaders of the Wrocław team left no illusions for their opponents. After Bartłomiej Kowalski’s win in race number 12, BETARD SPARTA secured their advancement to the final of PGE Ekstraliga. The nominated races no longer decided anything, but they turned out to be unlucky for Oskar Paluch, who had a scary-looking crash in the fourteenth race. Ultimately, BETARD SPARTA defeated EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów 50:40.
