An Important Day for Juniors. Who Will Take the Title After Kowalski? (preview of the MIMP final in Krosno)

This will be an exceptionally exciting Thursday for top Polish youth riders. The Individual Polish Junior Champion will be determined on the track in Krosno. The competition starts at 19:00. Live broadcast on CANAL+ Sport5 and on CANAL+ online.

Last year in Lublin, Bartłomiej Kowalski triumphed, who now is a key player in the U24 formation of BETARD SPARTA Wrocław. At that time the second and third places went to Bartosz Bańbor and Damian Ratajczak respectively.

The Youth Individual Polish Speedway Championships have been held since 1967. The undisputed king of the competition remains Piotr Świst, who managed to win three gold and one silver medal from 1986 to 1989. Right behind him is Tomasz Gollob, who started collecting medals with a bronze and then triumphed three times. The podium of the medal classification is completed by Maciej Janowski, who won MIMP three times from 2008 to 2012.

At the stadium on Legionów 1 in Krosno, sixteen riders will compete. Among the starters will be rising stars of the PGE Ekstraliga such as Wiktor Przyjemski and Jakub Krawczyk. Last year’s medalist Bartosz Bańbor will also have a chance to increase his tally.

A day before the competition, there was a change on the start list. Kacper Halkiewicz, who feels the effects of a crash in the first part of the KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZA match in Grudziądz, will be replaced by the second representative of the hosts – Piotr Świercz. Earlier, CELLFAST WILKI designated Szymon Bańdur, who jumped into the spot of Jakub Stojanowski due to regulatory issues.

Reserve riders will be Kacper Łobodziński representing ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz and Gracjan Szostak riding for AGRED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp.
