FOGO UNIA Leszno started their pre-season camp. Unlike in the past few years, the club decided not to escape the weather and the team stayed in Poland. – This season, we changed the location of our pre-season camp from sunny Spain to snowy Jakuszyce. After several years of trips to the Iberian Peninsula, the coaching staff and the athletes agreed to choose the Polish mountains for this year’s pre-season. The speedway riders will spend almost a week in Jakuszyce – says FOGO UNIA spokesperson Rafał Dobrowolski.
How is FOGO UNIA preparing in Jakuszyce for the first trips to the track and the inauguration of the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga season? – The schedule is thoroughly filled. Athletes will train in the gym, and individual training sessions will be interspersed with downhill skiing and cross-country skiing. Additionally, at the Lower Silesian Sports Center, where we are stationed, we have excellent infrastructure and recovery facilities at our disposal. An important part of such a camp is, of course, group integration and spending time together – continues Dobrowolski.
– After returning from Jakuszyce, we will slowly start looking at track conditions and weather forecasts. Last Friday, we removed the layer of snow from the track, and today the weather is favorable, so the track will dry up slightly. Around the second week of March, we would like to go for the first rides – announces the club spokesperson.
Let us remind you that FOGO UNIA Leszno will start the league competition with a home clash against AUTONA UNIA Tarnów on April 13. Next, Rafał Okoniewski’s team faces an away match to Krosno and a high-profile match against ABRAMCZYK POLONII Bydgoszcz.
