ŻUŻEL/NEWS/M2E: ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz after training camp in Żnin. Tomasz Bajerski: May it be like this all year

ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz will once again compete for the PGE Ekstraliga in the 2025 season. The club made several staffing changes during the November transfer window, resulting in the return to Bydgoszcz of, among others, Szymon Woźniak. Recently, the entire team participated in a training camp, about which more was shared by the team coach – Tomasz Bajerski.

  • ABRAMCZYK POLONIA, like last year, went on a few-day integration camp to Żnin. As Tomasz Bajerski tells us – the camp was conducted in a pleasant atmosphere.
  • In pre-season sparring matches, the Bydgoszcz team will face teams from Gorzów and Częstochowa, and the choice of these opponents was not accidental.
  • Currently, works are underway at the ABRAMCZYK POLONIA stadium to build line drainage, which will slightly change the technical data of this track.

ABRAMCZYK POLONIA once again visited Żnin with its entire squad. The only one absent from the camp was Tom Brennan, who at that time was in the United States with the Great Britain national team. So did the team integrate well? –Definitely yes. We had a great time and there was a lot of laughter. We prepared some attractions for the guys, so the time was spent in good spirits, and may it stay that way all year – said Tomasz Bajerski.

The time of training camps is a checkpoint for many teams in preparation for the season, to assess the physical condition of the riders after a few months away from speedway. How do the ABRAMCZYK POLONIA riders present themselves in this aspect? – We are more than satisfied. Compared to last year, our riders’ form is definitely better – claims the Bydgoszcz coach.

Currently, works are ongoing at the Municipal Stadium named after Marshal Józef Piłsudski, related to the construction of line drainage, which will slightly alter the track on Sportowa Street. The renovation of the facility also influenced the selection of sparring opponents, who will be STAL Gorzów and KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Częstochowa. – We wanted to face teams primarily from the PGE Ekstraliga, but also due to the fact that we are slightly rebuilding our track and creating the line drainage, which unfortunately will somewhat change the slope on the turns, we didn’t want anyone from our league riding on our track – explains Tomasz Bajerski.

The first opponents of Bydgoszcz in the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga will be ORZEŁ Łódź, TEXOM STAL Rzeszów, and the main favorite of the competition – FOGO UNIA Leszno. – For me, the stronger the teams at the beginning, the better. In reality, only reaching the finals and the final itself counts, so we want to be in those top playoffs and do our best from the first position.

So when does ABRAMCZYK POLONIA plan to go on the track for the first time in 2025? – Around March 15-20. If we can’t due to the weather, we’ll go for a few days to Krsko, and then we already have sparring matches planned with Gorzów and Częstochowa, as well as the Acorn Criteria – concluded the coach of ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz.
