Will ARGED MALESA Ostrów return to the game? ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz closer to the final (preview #OSTBYD)

After already knowing the first finalist of this year’s METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, it’s time to meet the second one. In the next semi-final, ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp. and ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz will face each other. This time, the hosts have to catch up.

ARGED MALESA and ABRAMCZYK POLONIA are the two best teams after the regular season of the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga. At the season opener, Mariusz Staszewski’s charges fell in Bydgoszcz by thirteen points, then won at home by twelve, which meant that the bonus went to the speedway riders from Kujawsko-Pomorskie.

The playoffs, however, have their own rules and the day’s disposition will determine who moves on to the next and final stage of the season. In the first leg of the semi-final rivalry, the Bydgoszcz team definitely had the better disposition. They improved their result from April and defeated the league leader 54:36, continuing a very successful streak of significant home victories. The victory itself is not surprising, but its scale certainly is, as this time the match was held with full squads, indicating a more fierce competition. That did not happen, and the hosts took full advantage of Ostrów’s helplessness on the Bydgoszcz track.

In addition to the significant advantage that ABRAMCZYK POLONIA holds, ARGED MALESA Ostrów is also hindered by the injury of their key junior, Sebastian Szostak, who damaged his spine during the second round of the individual junior world championships, preventing his participation in the rematch.

Many believed that the clash between these two teams was a premature final, as they were among the main favorites for promotion. Fate, or rather sports rivalry, dictated that they meet in the semi-final. So who will face INNPRO ROW Rybnik in the fight for the PGE Ekstraliga?
