After the inauguration of the play-off phase in METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, it’s time for the next quarterfinal matches. In them, #ORZECHOWAOSADA PSZ Poznań will take on ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz, and H.SKRZYDLEWSKA ORZEŁ Łódź will go up against ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp.
First, at 16:30, the match in Poznań will take place. The local #ORZECHOWAOSADA PSZ is not the favorite in the two-legged tie with ABRAMCZYK POLONIA, but they have already shown this season that they can beat anyone. In June, they managed to sensationally defeat Bydgoszcz with a score of 48:42, thanks, among others, to Ryan Douglas, who scored fourteen points back then. How will it be now?
In the team led by Tomasz Bajerski, there is a lot of calm. The Bydgoszcz speedway riders didn’t manage to win the regular season, but they still haven’t given up on their preseason goal of advancing to the PGE Ekstraliga. Moreover, Andreas Lyager is in better and better form, who, after a slightly weaker start to the season, climbed to second place in the team’s average ranking, right behind Krzysztof Buczkowski.

In the second match of the day, H.SKRZYDLEWSKA ORZEŁ will face the winner of the regular season of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga – ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp. It will be an extremely difficult task for Łódź to defeat their rivals from Ostrów. A month ago, they lost to them on their own track 51:39, and the team lacked equally scoring players. – It’s known that Ostrów took first place after the regular season and it will definitely be hard to beat them, but we will see what the future brings. We still believe we can do it, we will train this week and I hope we succeed – said before the match the coach of H.SKRZYDLEWSKA ORZEŁ Maciej Jąder.
ARGED MALESA, meanwhile, despite leading the standings, is not resting on their laurels. Similarly to other teams, their goal is to advance to the PGE Ekstraliga, and the easiest way to achieve that is by confidently entering the quarterfinals, the path to which starts in Łódź. I think H.SKRZYDLEWSKA ORZEŁ will not prepare the same track as in the match with us, because it was a track on which the local riders had completely no chance, so it will be a completely different match. We are preparing for a very tough match and we will approach it in that way – said Mariusz Staszewski, coach of ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp.

After each round of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, voting for the Rider of the Round will begin on the CANAL+ Speedway Facebook page. Fans will choose from among the winners of individual matches in a special post. CANAL+ will also announce who received this title in a given round.
