After the regular season, quarterfinals, and semifinals, the time has finally come for the final showdown. INNPRO ROW and ABRAMCZYK POLONIA will face off in Rybnik in the first leg of the battle for the PGE Ekstraliga.
Both INNPRO ROW and ABRAMCZYK POLONIA have gone through a long and tough journey to reach the grand final. The team from Rybnik finished third in the regular season and faced CELLFAST WILKI Krosno in the quarterfinals, defeating them by ten points over two legs. Next, they clashed with probably the most unpredictable team of the season – #ORZECHOWAOSADA PSŻ-Poznań, winning first 47:43 and then 46:44.
The team from Bydgoszcz had to acknowledge the superiority of ARGED MALESA Ostrowa Wlkp in the first fourteen rounds. In the quarterfinals, they sensationally lost to the team from Poznań mentioned above but qualified as a lucky loser, the best of the losers. There, they faced Ostrowa again and proved to be much better, winning the two-leg series 96:84.
– We are calm and composed for the match. I will be happy with any win, no matter how many points. We do not know what kind of track it will be – it can be hard or grippy, so we are prepared for both scenarios, and we will see how it will turn out. – said Tomasz Bajerski, coach of ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz.
– Certainly, nerves are also present because this is the final. We trained both on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Tuesday we also had a training session in Częstochowa – said Antoni Skupień, coach of INNPRO ROW. In the last match in Rybnik, the lack of understanding between the riders and their own track was visible. Will everything be fine now? – In the final, a hundred, or even a million percent, everything will be fine – continued the coach of the team from Rybnik with a smile. What result will satisfy him? – I think a result of 50:40 would be very good for us – concluded Skupień.
Big emotions await us. The outcome will be decided by the two-leg series. In the event of a draw, the standings after the regular season will be decisive. The rematch in Bydgoszcz will take place next Sunday, September 22 at 2:30 PM.
