Record Performance by Lambert. Two-legged Draw After 11 Seasons (Interesting Facts from Round 14 of PGE Ekstraliga)

The 2024 regular season of the PGE Ekstraliga has concluded. The final round saw many significant events – ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz’s victory over KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Czestochowa, a very tough match for the newly promoted team from Zielona Góra against a weakened KS APATOR, and a high win in FOGO UNI Leszno’s farewell.

• The postponed match between KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Czestochowa – NOVYHOTEL FALUBAZ Zielona Góra had many similarities to the first match. At W69, the match was also canceled and was supposed to take place on Friday at 8:30 PM (similar to the one in Czestochowa). Then, it was rescheduled for Thursday at 8:00 PM (just like in Zielona Góra).

• Robert Lambert had a good performance. The double World Team Champion scored 12 points. Thanks to this, the Briton surpassed the 900-point mark achieved in the PGE Ekstraliga. Currently, he has 907 points.

• The ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin riders had an unsuccessful match. The current Polish champions lost away to BETARD SPARTA Wrocław. Not a single visiting rider scored double figures. The last time none of the Lublin club riders achieved a double-digit score in a match was in 2021 in Leszno.

• Maksym Drabik had a terrible season. The KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Czestochowa rider finished with a general average of 1.426 and an away average of 1.077. This is his worst overall run average in his career, as well as his away average. His home average was worse only in 2016.

• The duel between FOGO UNI Leszno and EBUT.PL STAL Gorzów ended in a high victory for the hosts 53:37. The two-legged series was tied at 90:90. The last time such a situation occurred between these teams was in 2013.

• Paweł Przedpełski had his best race of the season. The KS APATOR Torun’s homegrown rider scored 11 points. Interestingly, the rider has performed very well in recent years in the colors of the Toruń club on the track in Zielona Góra. In 2021, he scored 15 points in 6 starts, and in 2018, he scored 10 points in 5 starts. This gives him an average score of 2.250.
