METALKAS 2nd League: Increase in attendance in the 2024 season. Over 350 thousand fans in the stands

The 2024 METALKAS 2nd League season has ended. After a thrilling competition, the INNPRO ROW Rybnik team secured promotion to the PGE Ekstraliga, beating ABRAMCZYK POLONIA in the final. This year, over 350 thousand speedway fans attended the stadiums – the most were at matches in Bydgoszcz. The past season was the first one managed by the Ekstraliga Żużlowa governing body.

In next year’s PGE Ekstraliga competition, INNPRO ROW Rybnik will participate. The last time the team from Silesia competed at the highest level was in 2020. The METALKAS 2nd League table was closed by ENERGA WYBRZEŻE Gdańsk.

In the individual classification, the best was also a representative of the Rybnik team. Brady Kurtz achieved the highest race point average, being the standout performer in this year’s competition (average 2.402). The Australian was also the only representative of INNPRO ROW in the top ten riders. This group included the most riders from ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp. (3).

Attendance during this year’s competition was also impressive. A total of 350,618 fans seated at the eight METALKAS 2nd League stadiums, an increase compared to the 2023 season (308,200). The most fans were in Bydgoszcz (average 7,690).

Interestingly, four centers saw an increase in the average number of fans compared to 2023: Bydgoszcz (from 5,667 to 7,690), Rybnik (from 4,500 to 6,750), Ostrów Wielkopolski (from 3,889 to 5,112), and Poznań (from 2,643 to 4,345).
