METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga: increase in attendance in the 2024 season. Over 350 thousand fans in the stands

The 2024 METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga season is concluded. After an exciting competition, the team of INNPRO ROW Rybnik secured promotion to the PGE Ekstraliga by defeating ABRAMCZYK POLONIA in the final. Over 350 thousand speedway sports fans attended the stadiums this year – most of them were present at matches in Bydgoszcz. The past season was the first under the management of the Ekstraliga Żużlowa organization.

In next year’s PGE Ekstraliga games, INNPRO ROW Rybnik will participate. The last time the team from Silesia was at the top level of competition was in 2020. The table of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga was closed by ENERGA WYBRZEŻE Gdańsk.

In the individual classification, the best was also a representative of the Rybnik team. The highest race-average points were achieved by Brady Kurtz, who was definitely the brightest spot in the entire league this year (average 2.402). The Australian was also the only representative of INNPRO ROW in the top ten players. In this group, most were speedway riders from ARGED MALESA Ostrów Wlkp. (3).

Attendance during this year’s competitions was also impressive. A total of 350,618 fans attended the eight stadiums of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, which is an increase compared to the 2023 season (308,200). The most fans attended the stands in Bydgoszcz (average 7,690).

Interestingly, four centers saw an increase in the average number of fans compared to 2023: Bydgoszcz (from 5,667 to 7,690), Rybnik (from 4,500 to 6,750), Ostrów Wielkopolski (from 3,889 to 5,112) and Poznań (from 2,643 to 4,345).
