Jason Doyle in KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Czestochowa!
30.09.2024 12:27Jason Doyle is the new rider for KRONO-PLAST WŁÓKNIARZ Czestochowa. Starting from the 2025 season, the Australian will compete in the PGE Ekstraliga with a Lion on his chest. This marks a return to the team for the former world champion.
He was born on October 6, 1985, in Newcastle. Coming from a speedway family, his father, Kevin, was also into this sport. Consequently, from a very young age, he was involved in the speedway environment, starting to race on smaller motorcycles at the age of three. He was one of the best mini speedway riders in Australia, but at the age of ten, he switched from left-turn racing to… baseball. It turned out that young Jason had a knack for this sport. He was even set to go to the United States, where a professional contract awaited him. However, a shoulder injury, which later proved to be permanent, ended his baseball career.
Ultimately, at the age of seventeen, he retired from baseball and returned to speedway. He debuted in the Polish league in 2008 wearing the colors of Kolejarza Rawicz. He later represented the following teams: Start Gniezno, Polonia Piła, ROW Rybnik, Orzeł Łódź, KS Toruń, and Falubaz Zielona Góra.
In the 2020 season, he joined Włókniarza Czestochowa, but spent only a year with the team due to a change in regulations. The requirement to have an under-24 rider meant that the Australian moved to Unia Leszno. He later competed for Wilki Krosna and GKM Grudziądz. In 2015, Jason Doyle debuted in the Grand Prix series, and just two seasons later, he won the gold medal in the Individual World Championships.
