After the first final match, which took place just a few dozen hours ago at the stadium in Rybnik, it’s time for the rematch, which will decide the advancement to PGE Ekstraliga. Facing off against each other are ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz and INNPRO ROW Rybnik.
In the first round of the final, the team from Rybnik proved superior, winning 50:40. INNPRO ROW was led to victory by the ever-reliable Brady Kurtz this season, while on the Bydgoszcz side, Krzysztof Buczkowski and Andreas Lyager tried to catch up.
Now, the competition moves to Marshal Józef Piłsudski City Stadium in Bydgoszcz. Local team ABRAMCZYK POLONIA has a ten-point deficit to overcome, which according to coach Tomasz Bajerski is possible but difficult. Furthermore, he emphasizes the crucial role of the calm prevailing within his team.
– The team remains calm. As the person who leads and directs this team, I must stay calm because we cannot show any signs of nervousness. I think ten points is a lot to make up, but we are not giving up because we have a strong and good team. Apart from the heats where Szczepaniak and Soerensen were overtaken at the last meters, we had a good match in Rybnik. Then there was the exclusion of Krzysztof Buczkowski, which I don’t agree with, and if you sum it all up, you can start speculating, but the result is what it is. It won’t be easy, but no one said it would be fun and pleasant. – says Bajerski.
After the match in Rybnik, the coach also spoke critically about the performance of his juniors. What causes that? – At home, they do well. They have the start and the appropriate angles on our track down pat, so they know how to ride. However, their performances on away tracks are tragic. They have a lot of support from the club, from me, from mechanics, and we’ve tried everything, but simply, their away performances are entirely unsuccessful. – said Tomasz Bajerski to us.
INNPRO ROW, on the other hand, has something to think about. Although they have a ten-point advantage, they also have a good memory, as they lost heavily in Bydgoszcz during the regular season, 61:29. – Of course, nerves also come into play because it is the final. We trained both on Wednesday and Thursday, and we were also at training in Częstochowa on Tuesday. – said Antoni Skupień about his team’s preparation for the final clash before the match in Rybnik.
