Speedway Ekstraliga and the British Speedway Promoters’ Association (BSPA) have reached an official agreement regarding league slots for METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga matches in the 2025 season.

Instead of two matches on Thursdays and two on Sundays – this was the initial idea that was considered a year ago – a change and compromise have been introduced.

One match of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga from the new season will be played on Thursdays and will always take precedence for players over matches played in the UK, another on Saturdays, and the remaining two on Sundays.

If the Speedway Ekstraliga is able, and I mean no scheduling conflicts, two matches will be held on Saturday, another two on Sunday, and in that case, there will be no match on Thursdays – says Wojciech Stępniewski, President of the Speedway Ekstraliga.

METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga will play 68 matches in the new season. It will begin with a regular round that includes 56 matches for 8 teams (home and away system). Afterward, the table will be divided into two groups of four (1-4 and 5-8), with 6 matches in each (play-off and play-down). Importantly, the second team of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga (the loser of the final double match) will play a two-match play-off with the seventh team of the 2025 season in the PGE Ekstraliga.

Let’s remember that METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga matches can be watched on sport channels CANAL+ and in the CANAL+ online service until 2027.

Speedway Ekstraliga and the British Speedway Promoters’ Association (BSPA) are governing bodies for speedway competitions in Poland and the United Kingdom.
